Within 10 minutes you will be cycling out of the Geneva hustle and bustle to join a long cycle path that winds its way between the bucolic countryside and the lake front. At just 15 km from Lausanne, Morges, your destination for the day is one of the prettiest lake front towns. Andancette to Valence
Just past Lausanne you will ride through the unique Lavaux wine region. Although there is some evidence that vines were grown in the area in Roman times, the actual vine terraces can be traced back to the 11th century and are so spectacular that they have been classified as a Unesco World Heritage site. The ride is not just about tasting the local Chasselas grape variety but also about enjoying the great views of the lake and the French Alps. Before leaving Lausanne, you have the option of visiting the recently refurbished and world famous Olympic Museum.
