Night in Geneva

Your first stage will take you from Geneva along a dedicated cycle path to the start of the long climb to the Col de la Faucille, gateway to the Jura region.  Once at the summit you will continue along a well tarmacked road that meanders through forest and typical Jura countryside for about 20 km until you reach at 1120 mt above sea level, the Franco-Swiss ski resort of Les Rousses.

Night in Les Rousses

Today you will ride very quiet country roads along picture perfect countryside and pristine Jura forests. You will visit the pretty village of Saint Claude, famous for its high quality, hand-crafted pipes. The Saint Claude pipe tobacco blend has been well known to pipe smokers for decades! Today’s loop will bring you back to Les Rousses for a second night. Sparsely populated and with very little traffic this part of the Jura is a cycling heaven.

Day 4 sees you back into Swiss Jura as you make your way to Yverdon les Bains on the shores of the lake of Neuchatel.  You will cycle along the Joux valley and its eponymous Alpine lake. The area is home to some of the most prestigious Swiss watch manufacturers that must have been inspired by the wonderful rolling mountains of the Jura region. This is very different terrain from the nearby Alps but arguably makes for far more enjoyable cycling.
