Our cycling tips in and around Neuchâtel
Where we love to ride
The tour of lake Neuchâtel makes for a long charming ride. It presents no major difficulties but at 105 km it still makes for a long day in the saddle, unless of course you break it up in two days. We would recommend a stop at the charming town of Estavayer-le-Lac on the South East side of the lake.
If you want to tackle a spectacular local climb then head up to the Chasseral (1585m) to the North East of Neuchâtel. You can return by a different route via the neighbouring lake of Bienne.
Why Neuchâtel is such a popular cycling destination ?
Neuchâtel sits on the shores of the biggest lake which is entirely in Switzerland.
This charming Swiss town makes for an excellent base for a cycling holiday as it is nestled between the bucolic Gruyère region and the Jura mountain range.
There is cycling to be had for all levels.
